POLICIES & PROCEDURES
This is YOUR session. Speak up!
Why is this so important? Communication is key to a positive massage experience. If you want anything changed: pressure, areas worked, position or if you are too hot or too cold ... speak up!
You will not hurt the therapist's feelings by asking for something that will make you more comfortable. Your therapist wants this to be the best experience for you to relax and enjoy. Also, what you requested in one session may be different in another. If you had a full body massage last time you had a session, but this time you only want your back/neck/shoulders/arms worked, it's perfectly fine to ask.
You will enjoy your sessions so much more!
DO I HAVE TO BE COMPLETELY UNDRESSED?
You should undress to the level you are comfortable. For a full body massage, most get completely undressed. However, if you will be more comfortable during the session if you leave your underwear on, that's fine. The therapist will work around the clothes you left on as best as he/she can. If removing all your clothes makes you too nervous and unable to relax, then you are not getting the optimal benefit from the session. You will be given the privacy to undress and get comfortable on the table.
You will always be modestly draped. Only the area being massaged will be undraped. The clients will be kept informed of the area to be massaged.
If you prefer to stay fully clothed, then I recommend Thai Yoga Bodywork which is performed clothed.
HOW WILL I FEEL AFTER MY MASSAGE?
Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience a significant decrease or freedom from long-term aches and pains. Many feel a little slowed down for a short period and then notice an increase of energy, heightened awareness and increased productivity which can last for days.
If you received a deep massage, you may be slightly sore the next day - much like a good workout at the gym. You will be provided with post-massage care recommendations at the end of your session.
After your session you should increase your water intake a bit. Just a glass or two more than normal is usually fine. This helps keep your body's tissues hydrated and healthy.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
Every person is unique and every condition is unique to each person. It also depends on your goals for massage and your commitment to self-care. If you are just looking for some occasional relaxation, then a session every 3-6 weeks may be fine for you.
However, if you are looking to address a specific condition, then it is recommended to go more frequently at first and then slowly taper down to a maintenance schedule. Sometimes more frequent 30-minute sessions can be effective until your goals are met and a maintenance schedule is in place. A treatment plan will be developed based on your goals. You and your therapist will be able to talk more specifically about this after your first session and she has had a chance to evaluate your body's tissues.
WHAT ARE YOUR GENERAL POLICIES?

-
Please arrive on time for your appointment. If late arrival is inevitable, your service(s) may be shortened to keep on schedule. The original treatment time will be charged.

-
A no show is defined as a person who has made a reservation, booking, or appointment but fails to show or cancel. When efforts are made by either the client or therapist to make other arrangements for the session, this is not considered a no show. Client accounts will be charged for the full service in the event of a no show and must be paid before the client’s next appointment. Gift certificates will not be accepted as payment for no show fees.
-
The therapist does not diagnose or prescribe for medical conditions nor are they allowed to provide treatment for a specific condition without a doctor's supervision. This includes what might cause tension or misalignment within the body (i.e. what causes that?). The massage therapist is required to refer you for diagnosis and to follow recommendations of your physician.
